• Sailfish Splash Waterpark: located on two acres of recreational “water-play”. Come enjoy the fun of a 1,000 ft. Lazy River, two (4-story tall) Water Slides and a 253 ft. A Closed Flume SPEED SLIDE. There is also a 7,326 Sq. Ft. water playground complete with jets, sprays, slides and a 300 gallon dump bucket. Take a break from all the fun and let the family enjoy a nice lunch on the shaded picnic areas. Don’t worry about space there are over 700 lounge & deck chairs you can even make it an extra special day with your own private cabana. • St. Lucie River Princess Tour Boat Company: come enjoy a memorable trip on the St. Lucie River. The City contracts the tour boat company to ensure residents and visitors get an up-close view of the city’s greatest asset, which ensures continued access to the river. The 1.5 hour cruise treats passengers to an informative mix of historical, ecological and maritime facts and stories from the Captain. The tour docks out of Veterans Park at Rivergate. The park features a boardwalk along the river bank, boat ramps and several delightful picnic areas. The river still remains unspoiled by development allowing the voyage to seem transcendent as the Princess moves quietly around the river bends and into landscapes of the same scenery from hundreds of years ago. Throughout your tour you are likely to see pelicans, ospreys, blue herons and several other types of wildlife. The Captain will point out both the very vibrant and the understated sights, plus answer all of your questions. As St. Lucie’s most popular natural site the area has been preserved since 1972 and remains one of the few pristine waterways in Florida.
• Savannas Preserve State Park: stretching along more than 10 miles from Ft. Pierce to Jensen Beach this is the largest and most intact remnant of Florida’s East Coast Savannas. Start you experience at the Environmental Education Center where you will learn about the importance of this unique and endangered natural system. There are several activities to choose from to make your trip here a memorable experience. Enjoy a tranquil lunch at the picnic tables, go canoeing or kayaking on the beautiful water or even try your hand at fishing in the wetlands. If you’re a wildlife enthusiast or a photographer you will love the diversity of the habitats that this undisturbed area offers. There are over eight miles of multi-use trails so it’s up to you to decide. Will it be hiking, biking or even horseback riding?
